DIY; At-home Facial with Drugstore products

The facials on the menu at salons and spas aren’t all hype — to keep your skin clear and healthy, it’s important to give it a deep clean regularly. Unfortunately, many of us don’t have the time or money to invest into regular salon facials. However, there are some inexpensive alternatives to the products used in spas with which it should be pretty simple for you to give yourself the same treatment at home.

Heres what your gonna need…

A clean towel, Boiling Water, Pond’s All Day Clean Wet Cleansing Towelettes in Original, Revlon Blackhead remover tool, St. Ives Naturally Clear Blemish & Blackhead Control Apricot Scrub, Clean & Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent in Oil-Free, Montagne Jeunesse Calming Spa Facial Face Tonic Mask in Dead Sea Anti-Stress or whichever one you prefer…

Heres how much thats gonna cost…

Towelettes..$3.49 Blackhead remover..$3.49 Scrub..2/$5.92 online. Astringent..$4.99 Mask..5/$5.00. Total cost, around $22.

Heres what to do…

Clean your face and neck with the towelette thoroughly (some people prefer liquid cleanser, but i find this method more effective). Bring your face near the boiling water about 15 inches and cover your face with the towel above the pot. You can also warm the towel with steam and put it over your face but i find it more efficient to lower my face to the steam for about thirty seconds.

Now, lightly remove your blackheads using the smaller hole of the blackhead removing tool and use the larger hole to gently clean out your white heads. Be gentle or you might hurt yourself with this method.

Next, rinse your face with luke warm water and apply the scrub to your wet face. Massage all over the face and neck for about ten minutes. Remember to massage in upwards circular motion on the cheeks as well as on your neck. Emphasize on the T-zone, especially the nose and the area under your lower lip.

Rinse your face with luke warm water and pat dry. Dab astringent on your face using a cotton ball. Apply the mask and let it sit for about ten minutes or as directed. Lastly, Rinse it off and apply moisturizer.

Repeat twice a month.
