Anime Update 4

Post may contain spoilers so please read at your own expense.

Hi everyone.
This will probably be my latest anime related post for a while before i get a bit settled into my new schedule. During this time, ill be keeping an eye out for any news related to the new TwinCon dates and such. Ill also be posting more product reviews and brand promotions along with a new make up look sometime late first week or early second week of February. Right now, here’s a small sneak peak and review of all the anime i have watched since last.

The Devil Is A Part-Timer! ‘Devil King Sadao is only one step away from conquering the world when he is beaten by Hero Emilia and forced to drift to the other world: modern-day Tokyo. As “conquering the world” are the only skills the Devil King possesses—and are obviously unnecessary in his new situation—he must work as a freeter to pay for his living expenses!’- MAL

Extremely hilarious. To add, references like MgRonalds and Sentucky Fried Chicken are like icing on the cake. My favorite character in this series would definitely be Shiro Ashiya. He used to be one of the devil’s most loyal a generals in the demon army back in the other realm, now he has been reduced to a care taker that plans the budget with the devil’s meager paycheck and does all the house hold chores. The slightly depressing thing about this show is that it will make you feel inadequate as a professional, make you second guess all your career choices and make you want to forget everything and get a job at MgRonalds.. Lol!

Un-go! ‘He pursues his job as the “Last Great Detective”. Others call him the “Defeated Detective”. What’s certain is that he’s Shinjurou Yuuki, a young man with a passion for mysteries and a talent for solving them that has made him the target of dark forces now stirring within the sinister underworld of a near future Tokyo. That could prove lethal, given that not even the other “good guys”, including the police, are exactly on Shinjouro’s side. Fortunately Yuuki’s not completely on his own, and with the aid of his uniquely talented associate Inga, he’s ready to cut a swath through the veils of secrecy that have been laid before him. Get ready for mind against matter and a lot of cloak and dagger as the ultimate battle of clue and deduction begins in UN-GO! ‘-MAL

A mystery anime. We get to see Shinjouro solve many interesting cases as the series develops and learn about his mysterious friends that help him get to the truth in a situation. Overall a good enough anime. Can get boring in the first few episodes so just bear with it for a while.

Code Geass; Boukoku No Akito (Akito the Exiled) ‘The story takes place in Europe in the year a.t.b. 2017. A Knightmare unit made of boys and girls from Area Eleven are thrown into a military operation with a 5% chance of survival. They must rescue an allied unit left behind on the European warfront.’-MAL

A three episode spin off from the original show, with the timeline set in between the period of Code Geass R1 and R2. Boukoku no Akito follows a Japanese young man named Akito Hyuga, an EU Knightmare pilot. As it turns out, his older brother who tried to kill him using the geass, is now one of the knight kings of Britannia and is hell bent on taking his life. It is not shown how Shaing, his brother acquired the power of Geass but somehow Akito was still able to survive. I suppose that his incident which happened during Akito’s childhood, has taken quite a toll on him as he seems to have become rather sadistic and apathetic.

So far only two episodes of the series have been released and the third is said to be set for release sometime this year. Contrary to expectations, while Suzaku Kururugi does make a special appearance during the series, there is some confusion to whether or not Lelouch Vi Britannia is present in the show. However, there is one mysterious young man seen travelling with Suzaku with a decorated patch over his left eye and a very Lelouch-esque appearance. He introduces himself as Julius Kingsley. My theory is that if this person is indeed Lelouch, then this incident happened around the time of his disappearance. The Black Knights get an honorable mention though only a handful of details are given about them. It is also said that C.C will be making a special appearance in the third episode which will conclude the series. Hopefully, Akito and his team survive the pitfall that starts with the beginning of Zero Requiem.

Red Garden. ‘Strange suicides have been taking place in New York. One day, four girls from the same high school wake up in the morning feeling tired and dizzy and not being able to remember anything about the previous night. In school, they find out that one of their classmates has committed suicide. School is canceled for the rest of the day, but instead of going home, the girls are drawn to a park by butterflies only they can see. Suddenly a man and a woman approach the girls, telling them that they all died the previous night.’-MAL

First of al, let me say how much i absolutely loved the art. This anime isnt very recent, but i suppose its the fact that they chose to draw American’s in a Japanese style of animation is what makes it so unique. Ive notice in several other anime where anime artists would try to draw Europeans and fail but this anime does it quite perfectly.

The story revolves around four girls of completely unique back grounds and puts them in a predicament where they are forced to work together to understand each other and find a new kind of appreciation for what they had previously taken for granted. This anime can best be described as a female-centric supernatural horror mystery mash up. Also, i recommend that after this series, you watch the 45 minute movie epilogue, Dead Girls, which is set in the future hundreds of years after the series ends. It doesn’t really explain things much but it’s an extra serving for those of us that weren’t emotionally prepared for the series to end so soon.

Shinrei.Tantei.Yakumo.full.396017

Psychic Detective Yakumo. ‘Haruka Ozawa’s sophomore year is getting seriously scary. One of her friends is possessed, another has committed suicide and Haruka could be the next one to flunk the still-breathing test. Her only way out of this potentially lethal dead end? Yakumo Saito, an enigmatic student born with a mysterious red eye that allows him to see and communicate with the dead. But the deceased don’t always desist and some killers are more than ready to kill again to keep dead men from telling any more tales. That doesn’t stop Haruka’s knack for digging up buried secrets, and there’s even more evidence of bodies being exhumed by both Yakumo’s police contact and an investigative journalist with a newly made corpse in her closet! Can this pair of anything but normal paranormal detectives solve the ultimate dead case files or will they end up in cold storage themselves?’-MAL

It took me six months to finally finish this series. Not because it has like 1000+ episodes or anything. Its just what happens when you combine my procrastination with distractions. The fact that it took me so long to finish a thirteen episode show is because it takes its sweet time to develop the story and then everything goes too fast and then you get confused whether you missed something so you go back to the episode before for clues, then further and further and then watch the same episode three times because it was so boring you struggle to concentrate on what the characters are saying. You get the memo. Not a bad anime, just too slow for me. Watch for yourself and lemme know what you think.
